We carry kitchen towels, also called tea towels, in a variety of fabrics. They are made to be used around the kitchen for different jobs, including drying dishes, counters, and hands, and cleaning spills. We've also learned that some customers use them strictly as decoration, with or without a frame! Here is a quick guide on the different types of kitchen towels we carry:

Printed towels: Printed towels start with a white, ivory, or cream fabric base. A design is then printed on top of the fabric. This is similar to the printing on a t-shirt for instance. The design can be very intricate with many colors. They are great quality, both in the fabric and the printing. You can be assured of many years of service without the print fading. The fabric base is usually cotton but can also be a linen/cotton blend. We carry printed towels from various French brands, including L'Ensoleillade, Tissus Toselli, LR Creations, and Coucke.

Jacquard towels: Jacquard towels are made using different color threads to create the design. As a result, if you turn the towel around you see the reverse of the design in the back. Because of the way they are crafted, the designs tend to be simpler with fewer colors. However, they look more sophisticated than the printed towels. They are 100% cotton. As you would expect, we carry only the highest quality towels, made in France, Portugal or Turkey. Similarly to the printed towels, our jacquard towels come from various French brands, including Coucke, Tissus Toselli, and L'Ensoleillade.

Waffle weave towels: These towels, as the name implies, are made of a waffle-weave type material. Looking close, the material appears to be made of small squares resembling a waffle! Each little square is like a small pocket that grabs on to liquids, making them very absorbent. They are made of a single color and have the design embroidered at the bottom. They are also 100% cotton and are made in Turkey by French company Coton Blanc. They come rolled up in a very cute fashion so they can be given as gifts!

Terry towels: We carry square shaped terry towels, a material similar to bath towels. Similarly to a jacquard towel, the design is created using threads of different colors. Our terry towels are 100% cotton, made by French company Coucke in either Portugal or Turkey. They handle any job with ease in the kitchen but they are truly fantastic to dry counters or soak up spills.

Round towels: These are not really "kitchen towels" in the same sense as the others above. They are meant to be hung near a sink to dry one's hands. They are made of thick terry material, similar to a bath towel. Most of them have the terry threads organized in hexagons to give them a more sophisticated look. A loop is sewn in the center so you can hang it up on the wall, a hook, or on a kitchen knob. Similarly to the waffle-weave towels, a design is embroidered on one side. These are made in Turkey by French company Coton Blanc. The most common reaction we get from our customers is delight at how thick these towels are!
